Hydroxypure and MultiCyclone XL recognised at peak industry awards

Waterco has been recognised for outstanding achievement with four prestigious industry awards for its Hydroxypure and MultiCycloneXL products.

The Swimming Pool & Spa Association of SA (Spasa SA)and the Swimming Pool & Spa Alliance (SPASA) both recognised Waterco’s products at their recent Awards of Excellence.

Waterco’s Hydroxypure chlorine-free pool sanitation system won the 2014 Most Innovative New Product Award and the MultiCyclone XL received the 2014 Sustainability Award (Water) in both South Australia and New South Wales.

"Invented and designed in Australia, these products are unique on the global market thanks to our commitment to research and development and innovation,” says Bryan Goh, Waterco group marketing director. “This allows us to keep ahead of competitors and lead the way in the water treatment industry.

“To win gold awards for both products in both states from the industry’s peak bodies in such a competitive business, is a proud achievement. These awards are all about setting new pool and spa industry benchmarks, so we are delighted to have our products independently recognised.”

The SPASA Awards of Excellence are judged by an independent panel. The awards are designed to promote achievement in design and innovation, energy and sustainability, construction, service, and professionalism across all sectors of the industry.

Hydroxypure – 2014 Most Innovative New Product

Waterco’s Hydroxypure chlorine-free pool sanitation system has been enthusiastically embraced by pool owners and pool builders. It has also been given the commercial tick of approval by the Gold Coast Council for ongoing use at the Turtle Beach Resort in Mermaid Beach, Queensland. As a result, the Hydroxypure system will be rolled out across all of the resort’s pools, spas, water features and proposed new $1 million water theme park.

“The beauty of Hydroxypure is that it’schlorine free, salt free, odourless, free of taste and you don’t need to shower after swimming,” says Goh. “Plus it is the only water sanitisation system approved by the Sensitive Choice® program of the National Asthma Council Australia.”

MultiCyclone XL – 2014 Sustainability Award (Water)

Waterco’s MultiCyclone XL’senvironmental credentials and ability to save water impressed the awards judges sufficiently toreward it with the 2014 Sustainability Award (Water). The Multicyclone claimed this same award in 2012, and has also received 11 international awards, including Best Product Award at SPATEX UK in 2011 and 2012, and the DesignMaster Green Award at India’s WAVES International Pool, Spa and Bath Expo.

The system works on the basis of centrifugal water filtration. With no moving parts to wear and tear, and no filter media to clean or replace, incoming water is guided by a diverter plate so that it enters multiple hydro cyclones tangentially, generating a strong centrifugal effect.

“The MultiCyclone XL pre-filters up to 80 per cent of the filter’s incoming dirt load prior to the main filter,” says Goh.“This reduces the load on the filter, thus reducing the frequency of filter maintenance by up to 80 per cent and saving backwash water. And as the MultiCyclone XL intercepts more and more sediment, the flow rate remains unchanged, improving pool water circulation.

“Waterco was delighted to accept these awards which reflect our commitment to outstanding product quality and continued product innovation,” says Goh.
